Job Title: Assistant Estimator - Main Contractor (Joinery Division)
Location: Sheffield (WFH Available)
Salary: 25,000 - 35,000 + Package
Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-driven Assistant Estimator to support our Joinery Division in delivering accurate and competitive tenders across a range of high-quality projects. Working under the guidance of the Estimating Manager and Senior Estimator, you will assist in the preparation of cost estimates for bespoke joinery and fit-out works within commercial, residential, healthcare, office, and education sectors.
This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on joinery experience or early-career estimating exposure who's looking to progress in a structured, supportive environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and submission of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for joinery packages
- Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and subcontractor/supplier quotes
- Perform material take-offs and quantify joinery components (e.g., doorsets, panelling, skirting, cabinetry)
- Support pricing activities by gathering cost data, labour rates, and material prices
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Maintain and update estimating databases and project cost records
- Attend tender review meetings and assist with bid clarifications as needed
- Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to ensure alignment on project scope and costings
