Business Development Manager – Construction – Runcorn
The Business Development Manager will be required to lead Business Development activities in our Northern England Division, supporting the Senior Business Development Manager in a variety of tasks related to securing tendering opportunities, whilst developing and maintaining a robust business network.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities as Business Development Manager:
- Maintaining and building relationships with existing clients as well as trying to source new business opportunities
- Regular update meetings with the Senior Business Development Manager
- Maintaining and keeping up to date contacts and clients information on CRM as well as the Tender Leads Report
- Liaison with Estimators and Operations staff on current and upcoming tenders with regard to Clients, Engineers, Project Managers, Architects and Quantity Surveyors
- Compilation of company information to be handed out to potential clients
- Monitoring and researching Local Authority portals for upcoming developments and projects
- Complete customer satisfaction surveys following successful project completions
- Capturing images of projects from progress through to completion
- Producing reports for Senior Business Development Manager on clients and opportunities
- Attend fortnightly Business Development team meetings
- Attend and/or lead Business Development Divisional meetings
- Attend industry supplier events and seminars for networking
- Arranging and attending corporate hospitality and staff events
Essential Criteria
- Standard Grade (equivalent or higher) in English and Maths
- Driving Licence
- Minimum 2 years experience within a Business Development role
- Must have experience working in Civil Engineering and Construction
- Previous experience in driving business growth
- Must be able to evidence a successful portfolio of client relationships and tenders
- IT literacy MS Teams, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Client/Supplier focused
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Report writing
- Strategic and analytical thinker
- Confident in decision making and using own initiative
- Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and staff
- Team Player
