Role Overview:
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase of projects by accurately estimating costs for electrical works. You will work closely with the project management and sales teams, leveraging your hands-on experience as an electrician to understand project requirements and provide detailed cost assessments. This role offers a clear pathway to advance within the company, with ongoing training and development provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating: Accurately prepare cost estimates for electrical works across a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
- Project Review: Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to understand scope and requirements.
- Supplier Engagement: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
- Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project details and provide updates as required.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in projects and incorporate contingencies into estimates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project management and sales teams to support bid submissions and project planning.
- Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training to enhance your estimating skills and stay updated with industry standards and practices.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a qualified electrician, with a solid understanding of electrical installations and systems.
- Qualifications: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (essential).
- Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (experience with estimating software is a plus but not required).
- Attitude: Eager to learn, with a positive attitude towards career development and embracing new challenges.
- Location: Must be based within a commutable distance to Loughton, Essex.
