A contractor specialising in structural steel is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Salary: 40,000
Start Date: ASAP
Work Arrangement: Full-time, on-site
Work Hours: 8:30 -17:00
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
Analyse materials, labour, and time requirements for a range of steelwork projects
Collaborate closely with project and commercial teams to ensure alignment with budgets and timelines
Prepare tender submissions and support bid processes
Monitor costs and update estimates throughout project progression
Qualifications
Proven experience in construction estimating, ideally within the structural steel sector
Solid understanding of steelwork fabrication and construction processes
Proficiency in estimating or project management software
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Effective communicator and team player
Relevant qualifications such as HND or degree in construction management or related field
Professional membership (e.g. RICS) would be advantageous but not essential
Project Values: Ranging from 10,000 to 500,000
