About the Role
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates for mechanical services within large-scale residential developments. Your role will involve reviewing drawings and specifications, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting the Pre-Construction process through to project handover.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates for residential and mixed-use developments
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope
Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
Assist with value engineering options and design alternatives
Collaborate with the design, commercial, and project management teams
Contribute to tender submissions and attend client or contractor meetings as needed
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the residential sector
Strong background in student accommodation and apartment projects
Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and public health systems
Ability to interpret M&E drawings, schedules, and technical documentation
Familiarity with current market rates, products, and suppliers
Competence with estimating software and MS Office (Excel in particular)
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
