Immediate opportunity for a Planner to be based at our Head Office in Southampton

We are seeking to recruit a Planner to join our Head Office in Southampton.
Working as part of the design team and reporting to the Planning Manager, the P6 Planner will be responsible for producing design programmes that will be incorporated into tender and contract programmes directly, or via co-ordination with the planning team.
The P6 Planner will provide a full planning service for projects and will ensure that project initiation and design are all clearly highlighted and planned appropriately whilst interacting daily with estimating team, design team and project teams. They will also monitor the design progress and productivity against that plan, to identify deviations and evaluate their impact on the project as a whole. The data from the programme can then be used the project/design management team to determine corrective actions and predict out turn position.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to;
Assist in the preparation of schedule data for contracts
Work with the Estimators & Designers to determine schedule rates for work activities and milestones to support the tender & design schedule
Production & maintenance of a design document matrix, and design programme templates that support the production of robust programmes
Establish work sequence and activity durations for assigned projects
Assigning WBS Codes to the Plan
Extracting information from the Project Management System to evaluate "work done" against the plan, tracking design progress.
Forecasting to completion using SPIs and CPIs
Float analysis reporting
Attend programme & progress meetings with Client and Project Teams
Review and analyse the supplier s schedules submitted
Familiar with Earned Value, Resourcing & progressing techniques
Preparation of Project Changes, Budget allocations
It is essential that you possess good written and verbal communication skills and should have the ability to develop and maintain relationships. You must also have excellent time management & organisational skills and be eager to learn and develop your planning career.
HNC/HND/BSc in an appropriate Engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) or by experience
