Involve Recruitment are looking for a Quantity Surveyor tfor our client a reputable construction contractor working across both residential and commercial schemes. In this position, you will support a range of projects across Southwest Wales by providing commercial insight, cost planning, and procurement support. Your responsibilities will include developing cost plans for public-sector frameworks, assessing project affordability, offering value-engineering advice, and producing regular commercial reports. You will also assist with bid submissions and pricing exercises, ensuring accurate and competitive tender responses.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing cost estimates and budgets by reviewing drawings, specifications and project information.

Assessing variations, pricing changes and supporting commercial decision-making.

Producing cost reports, tender submissions and supporting documentation for bids.

Working closely with designers, contractors and project teams.

Meeting clients and site staff as required, with occasional travel to project locations.

Monitoring construction progress and staying updated on regulations, materials and industry standards.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a surveying or estimating role within construction.

Strong understanding of building methods, materials and the cost impact of different construction techniques.

Good working knowledge of Excel and ideally some exposure to estimating software such as Evaluate.

Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents accurately.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Confidence managing several tasks at once and working to deadlines.

Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

A trade, site or practical construction background is advantageous.
