What You ll Be Doing (The Role)
- Leading the preparation of competitive and negotiated tenders for high-profile conservation, restoration, and façade packages
- Reviewing specifications, drawings, surveys, and site conditions to produce accurate and detailed cost estimates
- Liaising with clients, heritage consultants, and internal teams to ensure clear understanding of project scope
- Managing procurement of specialist materials and subcontractor pricing, ensuring value for money
- Contributing to bid strategy, value engineering, and technical proposal development
- Supporting the pre-construction process through to handover with delivery teams
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator (or experienced Estimator ready to step up) within heritage restoration, traditional construction, or specialist façade works
- Deep understanding of listed building requirements, conservation principles, and materials like stone, brick, timber, lead, and lime mortars
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex tenders from start to finish
- Strong commercial judgement and communication skills with clients and professionals
- Proficient in estimating software, MS Excel, and industry-standard take-off tools
- Passionate about craftsmanship, history, and delivering high-quality work on culturally significant buildings
