Senior Estimator

Our client are a national housing maintenance contractor who are based in the West Midlands. They are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team to manage a national account.
The company has a track record of winning and retaining work, with more than half of their current business coming from repeat customers. This ethos is something the leadership wish to replicate and someone with this track record would fit in to the business seamlessly.
It is essential for the candidate to have experience in the refurbishment market and have a good understanding of public procurement for estimating frameworks. A candidate who is comfortable assisting on strategic bids would be preferential.
Additional duties are very standard, but would include:
- Analysing plans, bills of quantities and other project documentation in order to estimate costs
- Researching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
- Analysing data that can affect costs (such as currency exchange rates and the company's productivity rates)
- Assessing the financial, technical and operational risks of the project
- Visiting project sites nationally to gather information
- Staying aware of the latest construction technologies
- Keeping up to date with the latest regulatory and legislative requirements
