Senior Estimator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join an established regional main contractor based in Guildford. The contractor, a privately owned business turning over circa 150mil a year undertakes projects across a range of sectors with both public and private clients across the education, commercial, healthcare and extra care sectors typically valuing up to 20mil. They have won a place on various frameworks and will tender negotiated or competitive schemes.
About the role of Senior Estimator:
As Senior Estimator, you will be working within a strong pre-construction team headed up by an experienced Pre-Construction Manager. You will be working independently to tender schemes or working with more junior Estimators to assist and mentor, with the support of the further pre-construction team.
Key Responsibilities as Senior Estimator:
- Dealing with tender enquiries
- Producing take-offs from drawings
- Obtaining materials and subcontractor rates
- Creating tender and delivery programmes
- Ensuring that tenders are properly reviewed before submission
- Providing clear and informative data for use in meetings and reviews.
Key Requirements for this Senior Estimator position:
- Have experience tendering projects valuing up to 20mil
- Have experience with single and two-stage tendering
- Have an understanding of different forms of contract
- Live in a commutable distance and be happy to commute to Guildford / site when required.
