We are looking for a Estimator to be based at our Trinity House office on a hybrid basis. With an expectation of going into the office once a week.
Here's what you'll be doing
Green Funding Solutions is a new and exciting team, developed from nothing to approximately 100 people and £70m - £100m revenue, in 3 years.
Our remit is to investigate and secure external funding for 'green' solutions for our most vulnerable customers and households. This ranges from insulation measures, solar panels and heat pump programmes, through to innovative low carbon heating propositions and energy efficiency solutions to Social Housing and Private Homes. We are helping 1000's of customers each year to be safer, warmer and have more affordable bills.
The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of fully costed and risk mitigated estimates and budgets to support the submission of high value Invitation to Tender (ITT), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Contractor Proposals (CP) exercises.
The success in ITT, RFP and CP are fundamental to the strategic direction and future growth strategy of Green Funding Solutions.
Primarily focusing on Green Funding Solutions work; whilst also supporting the wider EIS pilar, the Estimator will be responsible for identifying and responding to open-market opportunities and assist the Business Development team with direct award proposals.
What we need from you
- A minimum of 5 years' experience of estimating tender and negotiated works in a similar industry or role.
- Experience of preparing and pricing bill of quantities, schedule of rates and lump sum estimates.
- A formal qualification on a trade relevant to the position i.e. construction based ONC, HNC or equivalent.
- Demonstrate experience of securing complex multi-million contracts with LA/HA clients, ideally in an energy efficiency setting via structured tendering processes and/or Client negotiation.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.
- Good project management skills, liaising with all internal teams (including Pre-contract, delivery, operations and commercial)
