Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess compatibility of enquiries with company requirements.
• Monitor outstanding enquiry submission dates and meet deadlines.
• Prepare cost estimates for each enquiry, obtaining quotations from suppliers.
• Prepare detailed quotations describing company offers.
• Read engineering/architects/design and build drawings, and produce take offs.
• Record, scrutinise, and coordinate all enquiries to ensure competitive quotations are prepared on time and meet specification requirements.
• Accurately estimate materials and sub-contract requirements to secure competitive costs.
• Secure competitive bidding from approved suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Maintain a database of quotes and clients.
• Proactively seek new sales opportunities.
• Win and close out orders, ensuring acceptable payment terms to maintain cash flow.
• Ensure targets are met upon receipt of orders, including program, hours, and costs. Evaluate completion of manufacture.
• Cost all extras and modifications.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience working as a structural steelwork Estimator is essential.
• Experience working on design and build projects is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
