Position Overview:
As an Electrical Estimator you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of our projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with electrical installations, ensuring that our bids are competitive while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis: Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope and requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and other project expenses.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate pricing.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and analyse potential risks and opportunities associated with projects.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Documentation: Maintain organised and detailed records of estimates, quotes, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using electrical estimating software and familiarity with industry standards and codes.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and clients.
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs.
