TEXO Recruitment are supporting our external client in Aberdeenshire, with the appointment of an experienced Estimating & Production Engineer to join their Estimating team.

This key role is responsible for producing accurate costings and managing the end-to-end delivery of fabrication and pipework projects, including pressure vessels. Projects typically span offshore platforms, FPSOs, subsea tooling, and onshore infrastructure, predominantly within the Oil & Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and quotations based on detailed labour, material, and time requirements
  • Engage with clients to clarify technical specifications and develop competitive pricing strategies
  • Source accurate costs for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services
  • Take ownership of awarded jobs through production and delivery stages
  • Attend weekly production meetings and coordinate with multiple departments across the business
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System during project execution
  • Maintain safety and environmental standards in accordance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Work closely with fabrication teams to ensure jobs are delivered on time and to customer requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years estimating experience in a fabrication or engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding (in line with EN ISO 15614 and ASME Section IX procedures)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects for offshore Oil & Gas, including pressure vessels and coded pipework
  • Background in the steel trade, including knowledge of material grades and specifications (preferred)
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, fabrication isometrics, and P&IDs
  • Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with both clients and internal teams
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and project management tools
