This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to get into a really niche team at Thames Water, working on a variety of projects for budget setting for key stakeholders.This Estimating function will enable the development of a project cost from an agreed scope, for optioneering/budget setting approval. It will also be used for benchmarking contractor's actual costs in value-for-money statements by the end-to-end business process.As a lead, you will be required to provide relevant support and training to other team members to ensure robust and consistent costings.What you will be doing as an Estimator

• Provide Estimating support to key internal or external stakeholders.
• Review and approve costings for all Estimators before submitting the final costing template to key stakeholders.
• Provide a feedback loop to the wider Estimating/EES team on EES cost model strengths, weaknesses and/or improvements.
• Review target cost vs final account accuracy and implement a process whereby lessons are learnt for future target cost setting.
• Proactively identify further opportunities to improve the end-to-end process.
• Ensure all stakeholders are actively engaged to meet agreed KPIs.
• Provide relevant support to the Estimating Support Manager and/or the wider EES team as and when required.
• Base Location: Reading - Hybrid.
• Working Pattern or hours: 36 Hours.

What you should bring to the role

• Previous estimating experience with a proven strong analytical mindset with the ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Preferably have experience working within an estimating/engineering background with water or waste knowledge.
• Good construction industry experience, ideally in pipelines or wastewater treatment.
• Self-sufficient, hold strong communication/stakeholder engagement skills, and be able to prioritise/multitask to produce required deliverables efficiently.
• An exceptional team player, who enjoys working as part of a small team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels with high attention to detail to ensure the data and information you are providing are accurate.
• Proactive and have excellent time management skills and work to tight deadlines.
