Estimating & Bidding Lead
Salary to £85,00 plus extensive benefits (work from home or office)
Our client is a leading utilities contractor in the UK, delivering gas infrastructure upgrades and diversion projects. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Bid Writer - Estimator from the utilities or construction sector to support on securing large new contracts, and helping the business develop their estimating systems.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation of tender submissions. This role requires commercial awareness and technical understanding to develop high-quality bid proposals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing;
Comprehensive tender return packages
Detailed cost breakdowns
Structured work programmes.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in bid writing and estimating, ideally within the gas industry, utilities, or civil engineering sector.
Strong understanding of project planning, cost estimation, and tender preparation processes.
Proficiency in estimating tools and planning software (e.g., MS Excel, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
Excellent communication skills to present technical and financial information in a clear manner.
Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop competitive cost models and pricing strategies.
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
