We are a main contractor specialising in Construction & roofing, looking for an mid level Estimator to join our team in our Hertfordshire office.
About the role of Estimator
We are a main contractor looking for an Assistant looking for the next step up, or an Estimator looking for their next opportunity. We currently have a team of 9 across Pre Con, with 2 Senior Estimators & a Head of Pre Construction, but as we expand further, we are looking for someone else who can come in and join the team.
We have a turnover of 100m and we focus on projects across the Education sector mainly, but also healthcare, valued between 500k up to 20m. Our projects involve a lot of two stage tenders, so experience in this would be really beneficial.

Responsibilities for Estimator
Prepare accurate & competitive cost estimates for projects valued from 500k up to 20m
Take off quantities using measurement software
Coordinate bid submissions, ensuring compliance with client instructions and deadlines
Issue RFQ's (Request for Quotations) to subcontractors and suppliers
Assess 7 compare quotes, ensuring alignment with the project scope
Assist in preliminary cost planning during early design stages
Attend site visits, tender meetings, and briefings with clients, architects, and consultants
Support project teams during post tender negotiations and contract award
Provide handover of cost information to a delivery teams
Proficient in Estimating software
Requirements for Estimator
Experience working with a main contractor / or someone who may have experience in fit out but is interested in coming to a main contractor & can crack on
There will be support / training but we are looking for someone who feels confident in their role as an Estimator
Experience in two stage tenders preferred
Someone looking for progression / next step their career
Mid level
