Key Responsibilities:
As a Design Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our projects by:
- Designing Fire Systems to industry standards and client specifications using AutoCAD.
- Thoroughly analysing project requirements from printed plans, including complete systems and modifications to existing ones.
- Reading and interpreting client specifications, drawings, and inquiries.
- Providing accurate and commercially sound cost estimations for quotations.
- Creating professional, high-quality quotations and technical submittals.
- Engaging with clients to understand their needs and effectively present our proposals.
- Evaluating incoming enquiries and determining their alignment with our bid/no bid policy.
- Collaborating with Sales and Projects Teams, contributing to designs and reviewing technical content and proposals.
- Conducting site visits and surveys as needed.
- Working towards achieving monthly sales targets.
Skills and Experience:
Our ideal Design Estimator possesses the following:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in AutoCAD.
- BS5839-1 Design Experience or relevant training/qualifications.
- Technical knowledge of Fire Detection Systems and related systems (e.g., Gas Suppression, Water Mist, Voice Alarm, Security).
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet client deadlines.
- Previous experience in the Fire Industry.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Commercial environment experience.
- In-depth knowledge of current fire and life safety regulations, including BS5839:1-2017.
