We are looking for a Production Estimator to join this leading provider of advanced engineering solutions, specializing in materials, tooling, and component manufacture. With a commitment to precision and innovation, they supply to clients in the aerospace, motorsport, and defense industries.
Role Description
As a Production Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the production process by analyzing technical drawings, data, and other inputs to estimate the cost and schedule of machining parts. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality machined components to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawing Analysis
Proficiently read and interpret technical drawings to understand project requirements.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to clarify specifications and resolve potential discrepancies.
- Cost and Schedule Estimation:
Utilize your strong knowledge of machining processes and practices, including CNC machining, to estimate production costs and timelines.
Work closely with project managers to develop accurate and competitive cost proposals.
- Project Management and Coordination:
Interface with project managers and machine shop operators to ensure seamless coordination of production activities.
Monitor project progress and provide timely updates on estimated versus actual costs and timelines.
- Estimating Tools and Software
Use estimating tools and software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.
Stay informed about advancements in estimating technology and recommend improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of machining processes and practices, with a focus on CNC machining.
Experience in project management and machine shop operations.
Familiarity with estimating tools and software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the aerospace, motorsport, or defense industries is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy.
