Quantity Surveyor / Estimator Southport Full Time Up to £50,000 DOE

Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team in Southport. Established in 1985, they have grown to become one of the North West s leading and most reputable flat and pitched roofing contractors.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in roofing estimation or a similar role, ideally within the UK construction industry
• Full UK driving license (max 3 points)
• Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in roofing estimation
• Physically fit, able to climb ladders/scaffolds, and confident working at height on roofs
• Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management techniques
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, contractors, and team members
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions during the estimation process

What will your role look like?

• Conduct on-site inspections to assess roofing projects and gather necessary information
• Take accurate measurements and document existing conditions
• Analyse project requirements, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals based on project specifications and client requirements
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive quotes
• Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and subcontractors
• Attend pre -start project meetings and meetings as works progress to ensure accurate valuations
• Prepare and present detailed proposals and bids to clients, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraints
