Job Title: Senior Cost Estimator

Salary: £60,000-£70,000 (Dependent on experience)
The role:
Are you an experienced Cost Estimator looking for a challenging opportunity to work with a large, advanced Defence organisation? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Cost Estimator. This is a unique chance to contribute to the success of our organisation and play a key role in supporting our defence projects.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cost estimates for defence projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data, identify cost drivers, and develop cost models.Understand ITT documentation fully, raise any queries to resolve and gather information that is missing or unclear.Conduct comprehensive cost analysis, including cost breakdown structures, cost risk assessments, cost variance analysis, tender analysis, and risk reviews to compile for negotiated works.Provide expert advice and guidance on cost estimation methodologies, tools, and best practices.Support proposal development by providing accurate and timely cost estimates.Monitor and report on project cost performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to cost estimation in the defence sector and manage documentation distribution in a compliant manner.Requirements:
Extensive experience in an estimator role or relevant, in a Defence, Engineering or Construction background.A strong understanding of the defence project lifecycle and the ability to develop and implement project WBS and CBS coding.Proficiency in cost estimation methodologies, tools, and software and extensive use of MS office.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring high-quality cost estimates.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.Familiarity with defence industry regulations, standards, compliance requirements and NEC contracts.
